Graduate Medical Education

Together with The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, we have more than 30 residency and fellowship programs that provide comprehensive training in primary care and multiple specialty and subspecialty disciplines.

Nurse Residency

Nurse Residency Program gives graduate nurses the opportunity to choose from nearly any clinical area to find the best fit for your professional goals. After completing our new graduate orientation program, you'll have more practical experience and more confidence in your hands-on nursing skills.

Pharmacy Residency

We offer a PGY1 pharmacy residency, as well as critical care, emergency medicine and infectious diseases PGY2 residencies. Our programs are proud to offer residents a diverse and flexible pharmacy training experience with rotations in a variety of clinical areas.

Administrative Fellowship Program

ECU Health Medical Center offers a 12-month administrative fellowship program that provides post-graduate candidates the opportunity to gain training and management experience in a large and diverse health care system.

Operating Room Fellowship

We offer a 32-week operating room RN fellowship at ECU Health Medical Center that provides structured career development for RNs interested in Operating Room opportunities. A Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Fellowship is also available, providing RNs with additional specialized CVOR training.

Clinical Pastoral

Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) is postgraduate allied health education and interfaith professional education for ministry. It brings theological students and ministers of all faiths (pastors, priests, rabbis, imams and others) into supervised encounters with persons in crisis.

Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency

ECU Health Medical Center offers a one-year residency program in Neurologic Physical Therapy where residents have the opportunity to practice in a number of settings while receiving high-quality mentorship from professionals.
