TSP is a workforce opportunity that is available to external candidates. Current eligibility requirements include:
Respiratory Care Practitioner candidates
- A minimum of 3 years of experience
- Possess an associate degree or higher in an approved COARC program
- Active licensure with the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Basic Life Support and Advance Cardiac Life Support certifications from the American Heart Association
- Additional certifications and/or experience may be required related to specialty unit requirements
- Meet all required conditions of employment
Surgical Technologist candidates
- A minimum of 2 years of experience
- Completion of an approved Surgical Technology program, certification from a military program, or completion of an accredited nursing program (RN/LPN)
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
- Surgical Technologist certification is preferred
- Additional certifications and/or experience may be required related to specialty unit requirements
- Meet all required conditions of employment
Medical Lab Technician (MLT) candidates
- A minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician
- Possess an associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology. Equivalent training and/or work experience with the U.S. military will meet the education requirement
- Medical Laboratory Technician certification from the ASCP or other nationally recognized certifying agency
- Additional certifications and/or experience may be required related to specialty unit requirements
- Meet all required conditions of employment
Medical Lab Scientist (MLS)/Medical Technologist (MT) candidates
- A minimum of 1 year of experience
- Possess a bachelor’s degree or higher in Medical Technology or Clinical Lab Science
- Certification as MLS, BB, C, H or MB by ASCP or other nationally recognized certifying agency
- Additional certifications and/or experience may be required related to specialty unit requirements
- Meet all required conditions of employment
Current or former ECU Health team members
Must meet all criteria above, plus:
- Minimum 92-day continuous separation period from ECU Health organization
- Must have a “Meets Expectations” or higher on last appraisal at home hospital
- Eligible for rehire status
