Position Summary
A detail-oriented, innovative and forward-thinking marketing & communications professional who is passionate and driven by excellence in a team environment. The Multimedia Producer is solution-focused, well-organized and finds high value in building relationships across teams. Understanding the value of marketing & communications, this individual supports system-wide strategies, messaging and channels, while advising and partnering with various departments across the health system. This position is a member of the Brand Communications team.
Responsibilities
Plans, develops, manages and executes video and multimedia projects.
Coordinates, produces, shoots, and edits video and multimedia pieces for use in health environments.
Consults with clients to review and/or develop creative proposal, determine objectives, priorities, timeline and budget implications for the project.
Determines correct format presentation of material(s) for target audience.
Conducts research and helps to develop story lines and concepts for programs.
Schedules production, equipment and post-production time; preplans taping timelines to ensure necessary equipment and visuals are available.
Makes technical and creative decisions regarding such elements as shooting angles, shot framing, and placement and type of audio equipment.
Arranges and conducts interviews with relevant patient populations and other stakeholders as needed.
Selects and assembles equipment according to subject matter, anticipated conditions and displays knowledge of functions and limitations of various camera lenses and accessories.
Produces, directs, and designs multimedia content for ECU Health using video, photography, audio and graphics for internal and external audiences--including providers, team members, patients, visitors and community members.
Develops multimedia content that can be displayed across a variety of platforms, including but not limited to ECU Health.com, social media platforms--including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram--and internal channels, including MyVidant.org (ECU Health's intranet) and other internal channels.
Oversees operations of cameras, field production equipment and studio production equipment.
Proficient with Adobe CC, with emphasis on Premiere Pro, After Effects and Photoshop.
Experience with professional lighting, audio and recording equipment.
Performs post-production activities, including scene selection, editing, graphics, special effects, music selection and scoring, and media conversion and duplication.
Conducts field-based video production, which involves interacting with clients, subject matter experts and hospital patients.
Reviews, logs and makes editorial decisions regarding the use of appropriate footage for the production.
Photographs subjects using digital camera equipment and a variety of photographic accessories for a variety of end products, including but not limited to print advertising and materials, as well as internal and external digital platforms.
Follows processes to ensure efficient capture, processing, storage and distribution of digital photography.
Applies visual standards of editing to ensure color correctness, visual appeal, and clear details of photographs.
Provides output of various size and format photos per internal standards and customer specific requests.
Minimum Requirements
Associate degree- or higher- in communications, journalism, media arts or related field.
Three to five years prior experience in shooting, writing and editing video.
Experience in a Mac-Based computing and production environment.
Experience shooting video using both ENG camcorders and DSLR cameras.
Experience in an academic setting or news/media environment required, as is a strong sense of current video production and editing trends including, but not limited to, web, social media, broadcast television and radio.
Must be a motivated, self-starter with effective interpersonal, oral and written communication and organizational skills.
Ability to meet strict production deadlines and willingness to work different schedules to accommodate productions. Moderate travel required.
Creative mindset to problem-solving and ability and initiative to innovate. Must be able to constantly think of new and creative ways to tell a story through the lens and in an edit.
