About the Eddie and Jo Allison Smith Tower at ECU Health Medical Center

The Eddie and Jo Allison Smith Tower at ECU Health Medical Center, serves as the hub of ECU Health Cancer Care. The facility features 96 inpatient rooms, 60 infusion areas with a view of outdoor healing gardens, 58 clinics centered on patient care, an image renewal center, and a resource center offering additional services like psychotherapy, support groups and complementary therapies.

Position Summary

The Cancer Care Conference and Accreditation Coordinator facilitates all activities of Cancer Care Conferences for Breast, Gamma Knife, GI, Gyn, Heme Path, HPB, Melanoma, Neuro Oncology, Rectal, GU, Head and Neck, and Thoracic cancers, as well as the Multidisciplinary cancer conference. Provides administrative and logistical support for all Cancer Accreditations here and in the region.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required in healthcare or related field.
  • 3 to 4 years of relevant experience required related to conference coordination, accreditation management, or project coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, teach, make independent decisions and assume responsibility.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Working knowledge and experience with PC-based applications, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Futuristic approach to the development of programs/systems that support continuous quality improvement and Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Ability to function as a leader, team member and execute the desired outcomes.
  • Must exhibit creative, positive problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to foster collaboration between multiple parties.
  • Ability to plan, organize and effectively present ideas and concepts to groups.
  • Ability to think conceptually and apply concepts in a practical application.
  • Ability to assimilate information from a variety of sources, analyze information, and determines a course of action Ability to consider diverse opinions and incorporate them into the decision-making process.
  • Proven track record of implementing organization-wide projects.
  • Commitment to a high standard of customer service.
  • Excellent budget and financial management skills.
