ECU Health entities support observational experiences, or job shadowing, for individuals for exposure to health care careers and opportunities. Shadowing is a great way to explore health care careers with a one-on-one observational experience with a specific role in a health care setting. To inquire about shadowing opportunities, select a facility from the list below and reach out to the local facility contact for more information.

Shadow request process

For the safety of patients, each shadow participant must complete an application. All shadow requests are subject to review, approval and departmental availability. 

Shadowing agreement

Complete the Shadow Experience Agreement. All signature fields must be completed. Incomplete applications are not accepted.

Immunization checklist

Complete the Immunization Checklist in full. Attach a copy of your immunization record as proof of immunizations, including a current season flu vaccination during active flu season.

Visit the ECU Health Non-Employee Education Website and select "Volunteers and Others". Complete the required modules and print or screenshot the certificate of completion for each.
