It takes a large, highly trained team of Information Technology (IT) experts to keep ECU Health running smoothly and securely. We are committed to using the best technologies available and hiring the best IT professionals to help us meet our goals in today’s rapidly changing health care environment.
We have a state-of-the-art data center, and all ECU Health-owned or leased hospitals are on a common IT platform – including our electronic health record (EHR) that uses Epic's suite of applications. Our ambulatory and inpatient teams are responsible for creating, maintaining, implementing, and supporting the electronic health record in clinic practices, non-acute care areas, and in hospitals.
Our IT teams support and consult with each other on projects – creating and designing test cases and scripts to meet the functional requirements of a new feature plus planning and monitoring regression and integration testing. We work collaboratively with business partners and vendors. Day-to-day operations include preventative maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure infrastructure and application stability.
