It’s with great pride and excitement that we present our new brand.

A common name for a common purpose.

As we transition to ECU Health in the coming weeks and months, you will notice changes to our digital landscape, including ongoing updates to this site. Throughout this rebranding and into the future we remain committed to the communities we proudly serve. We’re excited for this evolution, and what it means for the future of health care in eastern North Carolina.

City Living

Plenty of bustle without the hustle.

As a cultural and educational hub, Greenville combines big-city resources with truly enjoyable — and affordable — living conditions. It’s busy, but there’s room to breathe. It’s big, but it’s front-porch friendly. It’s a great place to raise a family — but there’s more than enough to do when you’re looking for an exciting night on the town.

It's So Livable

One thing’s for sure — Greenville is a livable city. Housing costs are lower than the state and national average, and the public schools rank among North Carolina’s best. The city bus system makes getting around easy (and there’s also a growing bike/pedestrian corridor). Getting to and from the area is a snap, too: I-95 is close by, the Pitt-Greenville Airport is just three miles from ECU Health Medical Center and Raleigh-Durham International airport is less than 100 miles west.

  • Population (2018 Est) Greenville 93,137, Pitt County 179,914
  • Median Home Price $148,200
  • Avg. Temp Summer 88°F, Winter 52°F
  • Cost of Living 5% below national average

Loving Greenville

Whatever your idea of fun is, you’ll find it here — whether it’s watching a local artisan throw clay or watching the East Carolina University Pirates (ECU) throw a football. Is shopping your thing? From malls to farmers’ markets, from antiques to boutiques — Greenville’s got it all.

Of course, here at ECU Health, we love calling Greenville-Pitt County home, and we think you will too — but don’t just take our word for it. America’s Promise Alliance voted Greenville “Best Community for Young People,” and Forbes ranks the city #6 in “Best Small Places for Business and Careers.” Greenville is an innovative, vibrant place that’s always changing, and always inspiring. We hope you’ll explore!

A Thriving Arts Scene

Museums and galleries, concerts, dance, film, theater — just name your medium. Greenville’s also home to ECU, which presents numerous events and exhibits throughout the year, on campus and off.

Sportstown, USA

Sports Illustrated recognized Greenville as a “Sportstown” with good reason. The city has more than 20 parks, including Extreme Park, where you can watch local BMX pros practice (the city has become a mecca for BMX pro riders). Discover our longstanding Little League tradition and see our teams win yet another state baseball championship or softball world series. Or come root for the Pirates, who are a member of the American Athletic Conference. Just want to get outdoors? Hike, fish, golf, paddle, boat, bike…or enjoy yourself at one of our seasonal festivals.

Food and Drink

With so much to do in and around Greenville, you’ll work up a hearty appetite — and Greenville has more than 300 restaurants and eateries to explore, from local favorites (we do like to boast about our barbecue) to eclectic international cuisine. Plus, the nearby coast brings in the very best seafood.
