Position Summary

The System Labor Resource Management Specialist is responsible for evaluating and adjusting daily staffing across ECU Health in coordination with the Nurse Managers, Administrators and/or Patient Care Coordinators/House Supervisors.

Responsibilities

Assist in Staffing

1.Assigns personnel and relocates staff as needed on a shift-by-shift basis to cover system wide nursing unit needs.

2.Reviews scheduling software data and reports to evaluate and adjust staffing on a continual basis to best utilize available resources.

3.Prepares daily staffing reports for the ECU Health enterprise that reflect accurate staffing and needs throughout the system.

4.Assists Nurse Manager, Administrators and/or Patient Care Coordinators/House Supervisors with daily staffing needs by contacting resources as appropriate to resolve current and future staffing issues.


Flexwork and Labor Planning

5.Uses scheduling software with validation of skill set to select appropriately skilled employees at the level required to provide safe patient care in an area.

6.Maintains knowledge of staffing throughout the system to be able to identify staffing plans to meet the needs of all units according to the guidelines provided from Nursing Administration.

7.Prioritize staffing needs based on number of staff scheduled, staff mix, acuity and census.

8.Obtains current system census information in order to adjust and plan staffing appropriately.

9.Scheduling software management continually as changes occur with staffing throughout shift.

10.Completes and analyze scheduling software reports as requested on productivity, utilization, etc.



General Duties

11.Maintains professional communication with team members throughout the organization/system.

12.Accomplishes tasks via telephone and email communication.

13.Works independently, at times, with self-discipline and self-motivation.

14.Reports updates, changes, and other significant information in bed briefings and other forums as needed.

15.Database management and reports updated for accuracy of staffing information throughout shift.

16.Research as requested.

17.Webpage management for the updated Labor Resource Office documents.

18.Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree and 2 year of experience in a healthcare setting or Associate's Degree and 5 years of experience in a healthcare setting.

1 year of experience in a staffing role utilizing scheduling software or leadership role in a healthcare setting preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of proficiency with MS Office programs to include, Word, Excel, Outlook, and with remote collaboration tools and meeting platforms preferred.

Strong analytical skills with experience developing and maintaining reports, performing predictive analysis on workloads, vacancy rates, and scheduling preferred.
