About ECU Health Chowan Hospital

ECU Health Chowan Hospital in Edenton is a 25-bed critical access hospital which provides programs and services to 110,000 people in 6 counties. The facility offers medical and surgical services, including intensive care, a specialty care clinic and a dedicated outpatient surgery area with endoscopy capabilities. A 7-bed emergency department serves approximately 15,000 patients per year and team members at the facility have access to a telemedicine link with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.

Position Summary

The Licensed Physical Therapist is responsible for the overall delivery of physical therapy services and is accountable for the effectiveness of services. The LPT provides supervision to the PTA and works collaboratively during the delivery of services, The LPT is responsible for performing patient evaluations, developing interventions and establishing individualized plan of care with input from patient and family.

Minimum Requirements

Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited PT program.
North Carolina Physical Therapy License.
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.

Knowledge of contemporary and evidence-based PT practice. Ability to interpret clinician prescriptions and referrals.  Ability to communicating, both orally and in writing, with patients, families, caregivers, and other health care professions to facilitate the multidisciplinary treatment process.   Skill in utilizing appropriate screening and evaluation techniques required to appropriately provide direct patient care.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Full-time position with benefits

Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week

Outpatient and acute experience required

Weekend rotation necessary

Position will require LPT to work at both ECU Health Berie and Chowan Hospitals
