Position Summary

The Internal Communications Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring internal communications strategies, processes, plans and content for the health system. As a member of the Internal Communications team, the Internal Communications Specialist supports and collaborates with cross-functional leaders
and departments to engage, inspire, celebrate and inform team members, and is an advocate for bringing the team member voice and perspective into the work we do.


Consult, collaborate on, develop and implement system-wide internal communications strategies, plans and tactics that support and align with the organization's mission, vision and values.

Write, review and edit content for team member-facing communications.

Manage and maintain the internal communications-owned channels and tools (i.e. intranet, digital signage, email analytics platform, etc.).

Tracks internal communications metrics and data, and ensure the collective data is a driver in short and long-term strategy and recommendations.

Collaborate with cross-functional leaders and teams on internal initiatives and programs to support the development of communications plans and messaging.

Champions and articulates the organization's mission and vision in all verbal and written communications.

Partner with Marketing and Communications team to ensure alignment on strategy, messaging and communications timelines.

Partner with external agencies, as appropriate.

Support the organization's crisis communication planning and response, as needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Public Relations or similar discipline
  • Minimum of three years experience in a communications role
  • Minimum of two years experience copy writing and editing content
  • Minimum of three years experience using Microsoft Office, specifically in Word and PowerPoint
  • Minimum of one years experience with intranet or website platforms
