Position Summary

As an Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), you will perform clinical laboratory tests by standard operating policies and procedures. Understands method principles, performs quality control & calibrations, performs preventive maintenance, and analyzes results as to accuracy, acceptability and critical limits.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology required

 

Career Ladder:

Level I

  • Associate Degree in MLT or currently enrolled in an accredited Clinical Lab Science Program (BS) and have completed the specific laboratory rotation  (Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, and Transfusion services)
  • Equivalent laboratory training and/or work experience with the US Military (2 years) will meet the education requirement

 

Level II

  • Associate Degree in MLT or currently enrolled in an accredited Clinical Lab Science Program (BS) and have completed the specific laboratory rotation  (Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, and Transfusion services)
  • 1-2 years of experiences in a clinical laboratory as a MLT
  • Equivalent laboratory training and/or work experience with the US Military (2 years) will meet the education requirement
  • Certification as a MLT by ASCP or other nationally recognized certifying agency preferred

 

Level III

  • Associate Degree in MLT or currently enrolled in an accredited Clinical Lab Science Program (BS) and have completed the specific laboratory rotation  (Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, and Transfusion services)
  • 4 years of experiences in a clinical laboratory as a MLT
  • Equivalent laboratory training and/or work experience with the US Military (2 years) will meet the education requirement
  • Certification as a MLT by ASCP or other nationally recognized certifying agency required

 

Level IIII

  • Associate Degree in MLT or currently enrolled in an accredited Clinical Lab Science Program (BS) and have completed the specific laboratory rotation  (Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, and Transfusion services)
  • 7 years of experiences in a clinical laboratory as a MLT
  • Equivalent laboratory training and/or work experience with the US Military (2 years) will meet the education requirement
  • Certification as a MLT by ASCP or other nationally recognized certifying agency required

Other Information

  • Full-Time (40 hours a week)
  • Nights (8:30 pm - 7 am)
  • Monday - Thursday
  • Required to work rotating holidays
  • May be required to work some weekends
