Position Summary

Primary duties will be related to community COVID initiatives both within and external of the organization. Responsible for creating the first impression of the organization's services to patients and families and other external customers.

Work in a COVID related role within the Vidant Health System, in varying settings that may include regional medical clinic settings, office environments, mobile testing sites, laboratory settings, and/or hospital settings. Support Vidant's mission to meet the needs of region wide communities in response to the COVID pandemic, related resources, testing initiatives, treatment options, and vaccination initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent (or greater) 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities required:

  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions and weather variations
  • Work independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Run or move quickly during the course of a shift
  • Stand at a post for an extended period of time without sitting
  • Read and comprehend signage text, computer screens, and mobile device screens
  • Operate a Thermal/Handheld scanner
  • Provide private screening communications in accordance to HIPAA guidelines NC driver's license if required for position job responsibilities

Preferred Requirements

  • Registration Runners : Looking for someone with good communication skills, able to provide instructions to clients, read/verify registration, attention to detail due to entering information properly into computer system.
    • Qualifications : High school or higher, experience in fast paced environment in customer service, clerical or other like areas. Computer data entry skills a plus
    • Able to work in varying environmental conditions and weather variations, move quickly during the course of a shift and stand at post for extended period of time without sitting
  • Swabbers/Scanners : Looking for someone that can perform nasopharyngeal swab collection, attention to detail when labeling specimens and knowledge of patient ID protocol.
    • Qualifications: High school or higher, experience as in healthcare preferred but not required. Experience with customer service in fast paced environment a plus
    • Able to work in varying environmental conditions and weather variations, move quickly during the course of a shift and stand at post for extended period of time without sitting

Other Information

Temporary Opportunities at Covid Testing Mobile Site and Occupational Health Office

Hours of operation subject to change based on needs

  • Monday to Friday 6:30am to 6:30pm
  • Saturday (hours to be determined)
  • Sunday 8:30am to 2:30pm

Pay: $20/hour 

Mobile sites will be across Vidant Health facilities to support testing sites across the region
