Minimum Requirements

• Diploma in Nursing, Associates in Nursing or higher
• Current NC RN license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state Health Care Provider is required
• Basic Life Support is required

Bed count:

• 40 beds

Primary Population:

• The population consists of cardiac, vascular and thoracic patients scheduled for procedures.
• We also take overflow inpatient admissions for cardiac, vascular and thoracic patient needs

Registered nurses provide care in conjunction with the nursing assistants and medical team. Assignments are based on the patient’s needs, the geographical location of the patients, and the resources available. The charge nurse does not have a patient assignment for dayshift but does take a full assignment on night shift. BLS and ACLS is required but will allow to obtain ACLS during orientation.

Staffing/Scheduling:

• RN ratio 4:1              
• Flexible scheduling options as we have a mixture of 8, 10 and 12 hour shifts.
• Unit currently closes Saturdays by 1400 and reopens Monday at 0600.
• Closed for hospital observed holidays
