Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma in Nursing, Associates in Nursing or higher
  • Bachelors Degree is preferred
  • Current NC RN license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state Health Care Provider is required
  • Basic Life Support is required

Other Information

The Behavioral Health unit (52 beds) cares for those patients experiencing the following disease process:

  • Primary Mental Illness in acute decompensation crisis episode
  • May have comorbid intellectual disability, substance use disorder, and/or stable secondary medical diagnosis
  • Behavioral Health is divided into four sub units: Adult (23), Psych Med (14), Mental Illness/Intellectual Disability (10), and Acute (5).
  • Registered nurses provide care in conjunction with the behavioral health associates and interdisciplinary team. Care is provided to individuals aged 18+. All team members are trained in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention and BLS/CPR.
  • RN ratio 1:6                         

Flexible staffing options:

  • Day Shift, Night Shift, Rotating Day/Night (Based on staff preference and unit needs)
  • 1.0 FTE:  (3) 12 hr. shifts/week 1 and (4) 12 hr. shifts/week 2, (6) weekend shifts per 6 week schedule
  • 0.9 FTE: (3) 12 hr. shifts/week, (6) weekend shifts per 6 week schedule
  • 0.6 FTE: (2) 12 hr. shift/wk, (3) weekend shifts per 6 week schedule
  • 0.5 FTE:  (1) 12 hr. shift and (1) 8 hr. shift/wk, (3) weekend shifts per 6 week schedule
