Information Services at Vidant Health

Vidant Health offers comprehensive Information Technology (IT) services and infrastructure to support and enable all aspects of organizational operations. Our IT division consists of a state-of-the-art data center located in Greenville, NC. The data center services all information technology needs of Vidant Health facilities. All Vidant Health owned or leased hospitals are on a common IT platform, including our electronic health record (EHR) that uses Epic's suite of applications. Vidant Health has achieved Meaningful Use Stage 2 recognition and is also approaching Stage 7 for HIMSS Analytics’ Electronic Medical Records Adoption Model (EMRAM) recognition.

Position Summary

The Information Services (IS) Change Management & Communication Specialist will report to the Director, IS Strategic Planning & Portfolio Management and will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing and measuring communication plans for strategic initiatives throughout the Information Services department. This includes developing strategic internal communication recommendations and collaborating with the Marketing and Public Relations department as needed in support of Information Services lines, strategic objectives, and short/long term business goals. This role will also be responsible for developing and implementing change management plans and strategies to support large-scale organizational change due new software implementations or upgrades. This includes the design, development and maintenance of collateral to communicate IS products and services. Collateral includes, but is not limited to, the IS intranet, presentations, performance reports, and strategy documents.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree is required
  • At least five years of experience in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, change management, or project management
  • Solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process; experience with ADKAR is a plus
  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles and methodologies (example: Prosci certification)
  • Experience with large-scale organizational change effort
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle
  • Graphic design and a demonstrated creative ability to translate concepts into visualizations that convey key messages and tell stories
  • Meticulous grammar, editing, writing, presentation and communication skills
  • Technical writing experience
  • Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization
  • Excellent active listening skills
  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
  • Advanced proficiency in use of Microsoft office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as Adobe suite of products or comparable products; ability to learn the organization's database, content management system, and other software as needed
  • Content Management Systems and Intranet design experience a plus
  • Creating, organizing and publishing content in SharePoint as well as serving as a site administrator managing permissions
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and use good judgment in making independent decisions with a high degree of tact and diplomacy
