In close partnership with the CMO, the CMIO drives excellence in clinical practice and delivery of safe, effective, evidence-based care. The CMIDHO also collaborates with ECU on curriculum development and teaching programs to train the next generation of physician leaders in clinical and health informatics.

The CMIDHO will also design, lead, and participate in clinical and operational governance committees to ensure that clinical insight and input are part of all key decisions. The CMIDHO will continue to practice in their specialty for 20% of their time.
