Position Summary

The Data Services Analyst III role is to develop, coordinate, implement, and communicate the organization's Data Services strategies and initiatives for legacy Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems.

The Data Services Analyst III provides expert knowledge in analyzing, designing, developing and maintaining interoperability in a healthcare environment under little supervision on multiple concurrent projects.

Serves as technical resource for Epic Bridges, Intersystems Ensemble, and Intersystems IRIS: coordinating with Epic Application Analysts, Third-Party Application Analysts, Infrastructure Teams, vendors, and hospital subject matter experts in the development and implementation of integration projects.

Monitor and own the success of all daily inbound/outbound file transactions across system. Investigate and resolve daily exceptions and errors. Has a deep understanding of all of the file formats ingested and sent by our systems.

Work independently ensuring work efforts are properly aligned with system strategy. Apply business knowledge context to the data received in EDI transactions, and recommend workflow changes to leverage that knowledge, while working closely with internal teams and partners on new interfaces. Data Services Analyst III should be able to lead small to mid-sized projects.

Provide mentoring for less skilled team mates. Look for opportunities to implement new technologies to improve service while reducing costs.

This position is required to rotate on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Implements preventive measures for similar issues. Partners with other teams to develop complex unit and integrated test plans.

Proactively evaluates needs for required system upgrades or patches to ensure compliant with technology versioning for technology supported directly or indirectly by team.

Coordinates and performs cross functional team evaluation, testing, and implementation of defect patches, system upgrades and releases according to the Information Services support model and change control procedures.

Implement and provide ongoing monitoring and enhancing of testing automation tools to reduce labor effort to perform unit or integrated testing time.

Performs an extensive range and variety of complex technical, financial, quality, and/or professional work activities.

Undertakes work which requires the application of principles in a wide and often unpredictable range of contexts.

Possesses clear understanding of technology interdependency from a business or clinical operations and IT system perspective on complex or enterprise level.

Initiates and assists in coordinating the technical aspects on your team.

Analyze data and present information in a way this is understandable and supports decision making.

Proactively ensures security is appropriately addressed within their area by self and others. Engages or works with security specialists as necessary. Contributes to the security culture of the organization.

Understand how services provided by your area share data between systems, internal and external to the organization.

Develop diagrams that represent how the system communicates or interfaces with other systems. Advanced documentation may also include security entitlements, architecture, or logical environments.

Follows methodology and procedures set by IS Project Management Office (PMO) and completes assigned tasks related to projects.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field

8+ years of software development or HL7,FHIR, API development experience

Skills and Abilities:

Other preferred experience in many of the following:

HL7 interfaces, FHIR, API, DICOM interfaces; NCPDP Standards; ANSI X12; XML; various DBMS; XML; JSON.
Solid knowledge of data management.

Knowledge of security requirements, web services, service-oriented architecture, design patterns, multi-threaded systems, and automated unit testing.

Must have solid platform skills. Ability to learn new technologies in a short period of time. Solid analytical & reasoning skills, good verbal and written communication, ability to work in a team environment and is self-motivated Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.

Experience building complex technical solutions that turn business requirements into operational processes that inject analytical insights into the business.

Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.

Solid coding experience in various programming or scripting languages such as Python, Object Script. NOTE: We WILL be doing (short) programming tests in Object Script (or others).
