ECU Health Bertie Hospital is a state-of-the-art, 6-bed critical access hospital in Windsor. It is closely affiliated with ECU Health Medical Center and the telemedicine resources of The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. The hospital offers high quality surgical, emergency and diagnostic services, as well as specialty and primary care clinics.
Position Summary
Technician works under the immediate supervision of the Assistant Laboratory Manager. Performs clinical laboratory tests (Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Serology, Urinalysis and other miscellaneous areas) by standard operating policies and procedures; understands method principles; performs quality control & calibrations; performs preventive maintenance; and analyzes results as to accuracy, acceptability and critical limits. Works according to rotation of schedule when necessary.
Minimum Requirements
Medical Laboratory Technician must possess an associate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science and be registered as a Medical Laboratory Technician, or equivalent, by a nationally approved accrediting agency or be eligible to take such exam for accreditation.
