ECU Health Medical Center, one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is the 974-bed flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Position Summary

The multimedia production intern candidate will contribute to developing and maintaining a consistent visual image for the health system. The candidate will assist with the conception and execution of video and animation for various media needs. This includes, but is not limited to, partnering with and supporting the ECU Health Marketing & Communications department in creation and delivery of multimedia content; maintaining and applying knowledge of the technology necessary to support corporate production needs; and supporting the visual efforts to develop cohesive, high-quality messages for ECU Health. The internship candidate will also assist in content creation for both internal and external channels ensuring all videos produced are in support of the overall marketing strategy and supportive of the health system brand.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with photo & video production: Assist with location production, equipment setup & managing video/photo shoots
  • Editing & post-production: Edit raw footage into polished videos, add graphics, animations, music & special effects using Adobe Creative Suite
  • Content creation: Create short-form content for mobile viewers & digital placement
  • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing & creative teams to develop video concepts & ensure content alignment brand standards
  • Media organization: Download & organize photo & video assets in expected structure
  • Meeting participation: Participate in meetings with internal staff, external clients & stakeholders as appropriate
  • Script & storyboard development: Develop scripts, storyboards & presentations for internal & external audiences
  • Project management: Ensure projects are delivered on time & meet expected quality & brand standards
  • Strategic production: Learn how to concept & produce for the big picture to ensure the strategy behind the project leads to a functional end product
  • Visual asset creation: Assist in the creation of visual assets (pictures, videos) to complement social media content & enhance engagement
  • Media integration: Develop & adapt video/photo content specifically for social media platforms to increase reach & engagement

This position offers hands-on experience in a high-performing department, equipping candidates with the skills needed for a professional role in social media and/or multimedia production. Interns will work on diverse projects, creating a variety of samples to build a well-rounded portfolio.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized with a strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. They will demonstrate independent, creative problem-solving and take initiative to address questions or concerns proactively. The candidate should be able to work both independently and collaboratively within a high-performing team.

Minimum Requirements

  • Required: Current enrollment in a degree program with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher. Basic working knowledge/experience with Adobe Creative Suite, social media platforms, studio & field video production tools,
