About ECU Health Beaufort Hospital, a campus of ECU Health Medical Center

ECU Health Beaufort Hospital serves as a campus of ECU Health Medical Center. The 142-bed full-service hospital is located in Washington and has earned national designation as a Primary Stroke Center. It is home to a 16-bed emergency department that serves approximately 25,000 patients per year, as well as the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center – a provider of leading-edge chemotherapy and radiation therapy, among other cancer services. ECU Health Beaufort also offers general medical and surgical services, operative services, a women’s birthing center, rehabilitation services and outpatient clinics.

Position Summary

  • Plan, provide, supervise and document professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process for patients in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures.  
  • Use professional nursing judgment to individualize the plan of care based on assessment of the patient's baseline needs and response to care. 
  • Delegate tasks and supervises the activities of unlicensed care providers.  
  • Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment of care including equipment and material resources. 
  • Leads/guides licensed practical nurses, nurse aides and ancillary associates in the delivery of patient care. 
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.  
  • Assist the Nurse Manager in promoting safe, cost effective, quality patient care.

Minimum Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited Nursing Diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing- or higher. 
  • Licensed by the NCBON.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification 
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred.

  • Location/Department: ECU Health Beaufort (Washington, NC) - Intensive Care Unit (11 bed unit)
  • This leadership position is full-time (36hrs/week)
