Position Summary

The Point of Care - Ancillary Laboratory Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of point-of-care testing (POCT) and ancillary laboratory services across ECU Health Systems. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality laboratory services, compliance with regulatory standards, and the implementation of best practices in patient care.

Oversee the daily operations of POCT and ancillary laboratory services.

Ensure timely and accurate testing and reporting of laboratory results.

Monitor and maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, and other regulatory standards.

Conduct regular quality control checks and audits.

Recruit, train, and supervise laboratory staff.

Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care.

Work closely with the team leader, manager, and laboratory section medical director on the investigation and development of new or modified test procedures.
 

Minimum Requirements

Bachelors degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, or Biologic Science is required.

Masters degree in Healthcare Administration or a related field is preferred.

MLS/MT (ASCP, AMT, HEW, or equivalent) certification is required.

Three or more years of related work experience in a clinical laboratory (hospital, medical clinic/practice, military medical service, or commercial reference laboratory) is required.

At least two years of supervisory or management experience in laboratory services 

Certification in Point of Care Testing (POCT) is preferred.
