ECU Health Multispecialty Clinic - Belhaven combines local doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners and physician assistants who have years of experience caring for the community, with a brand new state-of the-art medical facility offering integrated, convenient and patient-centered care. Patients have easy access to follow-up care like physical therapy, cardiac consults, prenatal care, lab work, ultrasounds and X-rays all under one roof.

Belhaven, NC is located in the heart of the Inner Banks on the beautiful Pamlico Sound of Beaufort County. Only 20 miles east of Greenville, NC and 70 miles from the spectacular Crystal Coast beaches. 

Position Summary

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) performs clinical laboratory tests by standard operating polices and procedures.

As a MLT, you will:

  • Prepare patient specimens as required for laboratory testing and perform laboratory tests
  • Monitor test results to assure test quality and validity
  • Communicate results in a timely manner, especially those that may be life threatening to the patient
  • Maintain properly documented records of activities
  • Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • High School plus 2 years or more of formal training or education (Specify: Medical Laboratory Technician)
  • Less than 1 year of experience is required

Preferred

  • ASCP or equivalent certification desirable

Other Information

40 hours a week

Required to work a rotational work schedule of:

  • Week 1: Monday and Wednesday (7 am - 7 pm), Saturday (7 am - 7:30 pm)
  • Week 2: Sunday (7 am - 7:30 pm), Tuesday and Thursday (7 am - 7 pm), Friday (8 a - 12 noon)
  • Week 3: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday (7:30 am - 7:30 pm)
