Position Summary
This position is responsible for managing our vendor partner relationships, as they strive to deliver consistent and timely support to our customers and while meeting/exceeding levels of business performance. This position will also support and be lead in partnership with Payers in which ECU Health is contracted with.
In this key role, you will be instrumental in managing external collection agency partnerships, from sourcing and contract negotiation to performance monitoring and compliance oversight. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to enhance revenue cycle workflows, develop resolution strategies, and evaluate key performance indicators to achieve targeted outcomes.
The position will manage both staff, patient complaints, and vendor partnership and should seek ways to improve the functioning of vendor management within ECU Health Revenue Cycle Dept. Acts as a primary liaison to our vendor partners. Constant communication and monitoring of service and quality is imperative in this role.
Collaborate with Vendor partners to achieve key performance measures that include service level, turnaround time, quality, and customer satisfaction. The Vendor Management Manager will review, audit, and manage contracted service level measurements to assure contract obligations and customer satisfaction are being met.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions of Role:
1. Directs and oversees the activities of assigned vendors, as designated by internal operational leadership, by analyzing and managing vendor performance based on established metrics.
2. Develop, maintain, and facilitate positive and collaborative working relationships between vendors and ECU Health Resources.
3. Delivers insightful and meaningful feedback to leadership with focus on opportunities for revenue cycle improvement.
4. Builds trusting relationships with internal and external customers by providing confident leadership and timely communication.
5. identifies and sources key vendor partnerships that help increase overall performance and liquidation. Including but not limited to insurance billing, denial management, self-pay, and collections.
6. Participates as subject matter expertise in decision-making process with system integrations and revenue cycle change management activities.
7. Managing a team of Vendor Management Specialists and Vendors to ensure that client satisfaction is met or exceeded at all times.
8. Analyzing data to identify trends in customer needs or behavior patterns that may require changes to business processes.
9. Developing and implementing new processes or procedures to improve efficiency or quality of service.
10. Interviews, hires, trains, evaluates and develops subordinate management staff in accordance with defined policies and objectives.
11. Develops and recognizes staff through coaching, planning, training, appraising, and counseling.
Skill Set Requirement:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. (exceptional communication, interpersonal, listening, coaching, facilitation and conflict resolutions skills)
Strong computer skills including using Microsoft products like Excel, word, PowerPoint, outlook, one drive.
Creative, strategic, and analytical thinking abilities.
Contract negotiation and vendor evaluation.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Strong ethical principles and Conflict Management and issue resolution skills.
Strong Understanding of the inter-relationships of the Revenue Cycle Departments
Strong Understanding of Patient Financial Information System and Billing System
Minimum Requirements
Required Education/Course(s)/Training:
Associate degree or equivalent education and/or 5+ years of experience in revenue cycle management and strategic vendor management.
3+ years of supervisory or management/leadership experience.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's degree and/or 10+ years related work experience.
Previous Vendor Management experience
