ECU Health Internal Medicine - Kinston is located within ECU Health Multispecialty Clinic - Kinston, where doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners and physician assistants with years of experience caring for the community, work together to offer convenient, patient-centered care.

Kinston is  only 30 miles south of Greenville, NC, 60 miles west of spectacular Crystal Coast beaches, and 80 miles southeast of Raleigh, NC.

Position Summary

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) prepares patient specimens as required for laboratory testing.

As a MLT, you will:

  • Perform laboratory tests
  • Monitor test results to assure test quality and validity
  • Communicate results in a timely manner, especially those that may be life threatening to the patient
  • Maintain properly documented records of activities
  • Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • High School plus 2 years or more of formal training or education (Specify: Medical Laboratory Technician)
  • Less than 1 year of experience 

Preferred:

  • ASCP or equivalent certification 

Other Information

  • 36 hours a week
  • Monday - Thursday (8 am - 5 pm)
  • Friday (8 am - 12 noon)
