Position Summary
Prepare and maintain a work schedule for all pharmacy technicians. Evaluate the work performance of the technician staff. Effectively perform all activities required of a Pharmacy Technician II. Assist pharmacy management with formulating and implementing policies and procedures to facilitate an effective and efficient drug distribution system. Supervise the daily technician activities. Arrange for technician coverage due to unplanned absences and illness. Participate in the interview and selection process for hiring technician employees. Plan and supervise the training program for pharmacy technicians. Other tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain a technician work schedule that covers a minimum of three pay periods at least two weeks prior to the beginning of the schedule period.
-Ensure that technicians assigned to an area are qualified and trained in that area.
-Arrange for vacation and time off periods when requested.
-Ensure that all key areas are staffed.
Prepare probationary and annual performance appraisals for all technicians using the forms and procedures established by the medical center.
-Collect information from staff pharmacists and supervisors to assist in the evaluation process.
-Prepare and discuss the evaluation with each incumbent.
Ensure that the drug delivery system is managed in an effective, efficient manner by suggesting and implementing system changes when needed.
-Solve problems when they arise by evaluating existing procedures, direct observation and discussion with nursing and pharmacy personnel.
Minimum Requirements
High School plus less than 1 year of formal training or education

Certified and Registered Pharmacy Technician
