Position Summary
The primary project and program will take place in a community setting and involve directing and advancing the education piece of a project funded by the NCDIT. The position is intended to be embedded in the community and able to leverage local knowledge and community connections to strengthen the impact of the project. The project addresses the need for digital equity across 18 counties in eastern North Carolina. Specifically, the project seeks to educate communities in digital literacy and increase access to digital resources at accessible and convenient locations for community members. The position will leverage best practices as a community health worker and will be responsible for a 9-county region where they will provide educational trainings to community members. They will independently lead a team consisting of two part-time personnel on the project goals implementing day-to-day activities of the outreach program. The role will work to develop outreach strategies and targets prior to deploying the digital literacy trainings. The position will evaluate the trainings and new trainings will be developed and implemented based on the identification of community needs.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree is required; if not acquired, three years of community leadership, program delivery, or service work experience will be sufficient.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred experience: professional communication skills with researchers and community members. Project and community service delivery experience, including community coordination experience, community outreach, community education, and community-based human services. Experience working directly in communities to make culturally-competent connections between community members and human services. Completion of human research protections training.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States of America on a full-time basis.
