About The Outer Banks Hospital

The Outer Banks Hospital is a full-service critical access hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. The 21-bed facility is designed to meet the needs of the coastal community, whose year-round population of approximately 35,000 swells to about 350,000 in the summer season. Its campus includes four ORs, a medical/surgical unit, a labor & delivery suite with a dedicated caesarian section OR, a full rehabilitation therapy center, cancer treatment and radiation therapy center, and a 24-hour emergency department.

OBH is fully accredited, provides high quality care in a compassionate environment to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay, and has been nationally recognized for outstanding patient care.

Outer Banks Health (OBH) is a full-service community health system that includes a 21-bed acute care hospital, a stand-alone outpatient cancer center, a rehabilitation clinic, and an ambulatory medical group.

Outer Banks Health- Hospital offers a wide range of acute inpatient and outpatient services, excelling in primary care, orthopedics, ENT, OB/GYN, cancer care, urology, and general surgery.

Outer Banks Health- Medical Group consists of thirteen primary/specialty/urgent care practices along 60 miles of coastline, serving patients from Avon to Kitty Hawk. Outer Banks Health continues to grow to meet the needs of our community, which has a year-round population of 45,000 that swells to 350,000+ in the summer months.


Position Summary

Under the general supervision of the President, this position is responsible for the planning and upkeep of the Hospital, Medical Clinics and property. Oversees the daily operations for maintenance, facility, grounds and utilities systems and management of policies.

Oversees life safety and regulatory compliance of all new hospital capital improvement projects. Represents the hospital and medical group in all planning and construction matters related to facility life safety.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction management or related field preferred. Ten years of relative experience in a hospital environment can be substituted for a bachelors degree.

Minimum of two to four years management experience preferred. Experience in health care institutions preferred.
