Position Summary
The Cardiovascular and Pulmonary (CVP)Rehabilitation Program Manager is responsible for the overall planning, development and administration of the designated Rehabilitation Program. These responsibilities include planning, organizing, coordinating, and serving as an administrative liaison between the program and the Heart and Vascular (H&V) Leadership Team.
The Rehabilitation Program Manager is responsible for the clinical direction and functioning of the designated Rehabilitation Program in conjunction with the Medical Director and supervising physician(s). The Program Manager appropriately communicates with Director of Cardiovascular Disease management to assure the smooth ongoing integration and functioning of the designated CVP Rehab Program with other Rehab programs and departments and follows the overarching policies for ECUH CVP rehab programs. The Program Manager is responsible for developing an effective communication system within the designated Rehabilitation Program to assure two-way communication, sharing and integration of ideas.
The program manager is responsible for assisting the Director of CV Disease Management programs and the Administrator of the H&V service line in the following Rehabilitation Leadership Team responsibilities:
1. Establishing the core values and mission that promote seeing the patient served as the focus of the rehabilitation program.
2. Implementing systems that support communication among all levels of the program at all locations where the rehabilitation program is being provided, as well as supporting the integration of the program into the larger organization and the community.
3. Implementing operational systems that support a proactive approach and support the value of the measurement of both individual and programmatic outcomes.
4. Using the information gathered from a variety of internal and external sources to plan, improve performance, and educate, inform, and demonstrate to all stakeholders the value of rehabilitation.
5. Maintaining financial accountability.
Responsibilities
Utilizes principles of program management to effectively meet the needs and rights of the persons served and other stakeholders. Being available at non-routine times for the effective operation and goal attainment of the facility. This may include nights, weekends and holidays. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service appropriate to the age of the patient. Schedules and conducts regular program meetings. Staff should be encouraged to actively participate in the establishment of goals, protocols, and designated program development.
Taking all steps necessary to develop an interdisciplinary team approach to the delivery of services. Assures that the team members are competent and appropriate to meet the needs of the persons served. Maintains proper staff and other resource utilization in order to ensure appropriate delivery of care. Recruiting, hiring, supervising, evaluating, and terminating staff as situations warrant. Supervises clinical activities and professional conduct of program staff. In each of these functions, the Director and Administrator will be appropriately informed prior to major action whenever possible. Under no circumstances will hiring be done without previous knowledge of the Director. Responsible for program based clinical education.
Maintains the accountability for quality outcomes. Participates and represents program in the service line and organizational meetings as needed. Maintains program compliance with regulatory agencies. Participates in organizational strategic planning that supports the program.
Collaborates effectively with customers. Participates in the organizing and conducting of public relations programs and helping develop an advocate image of the program and facility. Budget responsibilities. Establishes sound reimbursement practices to financially support the program. Establishes and follows a budget that supports the scope of the program.
Minimum Requirements
Master's Degree is required.
3 - 4 years experience is required.
RN Licensure in North Carolina or ACSM Clinical Exercise Physiology is required.
