About ECU Health Bertie Hospital

ECU Health Bertie Hospital is a state-of-the-art, 6-bed critical access hospital in Windsor. It is closely affiliated with ECU Health Medical Center and the telemedicine resources of The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. The hospital offers high quality surgical, emergency and diagnostic services, as well as specialty and primary care clinics.

 

Position Summary

Up to $30K Commitment Incentive 

Plan, provide, supervise and document professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process for patients in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures.  Use professional nursing judgment to individualize the plan of care based on assessment of the patient's baseline needs and response to care.  Delegate tasks and supervises the activities of unlicensed care providers.  Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment of care including equipment and material resources. Leads/guides licensed practical nurses, nurse aides and ancillary associates in the delivery of patient care. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.  Assist the Nurse Manager in promoting safe, cost effective, quality patient care.

Minimum Requirements

  • Current North Carolina Registered Nurse license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support is required.

Other Information

  • Oversees acute unit.
  • Position:  1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week.
  • Shift:  Primarily Monday-Friday. Will rotate call bi-weekly with nurse manager with possibility of covering nights and weekends, if needed.
