ECU Health Medical Center, one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is the 974-bed flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Position Summary

1. Provides care to trauma patients/families through nursing interventions.

2. Coordinates outpatient care with the Trauma team.

3. Demonstrates effective patient assessment skills through the ability to prioritize and utilize appropriate resources.

4. Utilizes case management system to guide interventions and evaluate care.

5. Participates in financial management of the Trauma Service.

6. Participates in educational development and research projects.

7. Demonstrates appropriate, caring behavior in the workplace - treating patients and families with respect and dignity and offering support.

8. Keeps Trauma Program Manager aware of potential risk management or patient satisfaction issues.

9. Participates on departmental and hospital committees and projects.

10. Participates in quality management of the Trauma Service.

Minimum Requirements

ADN Required
Current NC Nursing License Required
3 to 4 years experience in surgical/trauma, emergency and/or critical care setting required.

BSN Preferred
TNCC Preferred

Other Information

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position - benefits eligible.

Shift:  Day (Monday - Friday 0800 - 1700)

On Call:  No

Weekends:  No
