ECU Health Duplin Hospital is an 81-bed facility located in Kenansville, North Carolina. The 15-bed emergency department serves approximately 25,000 patients per year. In addition to providing general medical and surgical services, ECU Health Duplin Hospital offers chemotherapy and other cancer infusion interventions and has earned national designation as a Primary Stroke Center.
Position Summary
Provides patient care through

Participates in departmental/team quality improvement activities
Delegates appropriate tasks to assistants, technicians, and supervises
Responsible for education of self, peers, patients, students, and assists with new employee orientation
Assists with or performs special projects and/or research
Responsibilities
Professional Practice: Assesses Patients, Develops plan of care, Implements care, Evaluates and revises care, Communicates patient information in verbal and written formats, Provides patient/family education, Delegates/superises portions of care to appropriate personnel, Participates in discharge planning
Education: Identifies and plans for own learning needs, Attends inservices, Applies knowledge gained through education to clinical practice, Instructs students and less experienced staff
Leadership: Is familiar with and follows hospital policies and procedures, Attends mandatory inservices/meetings, Delegates duties to others and supervises as appropriate, Demonstrates effective interpersonal relations and communication, Contributes to organizational/team and department goals by active participation in meetings and committees
Quality Improvement: Responsible for delivering quality care, Participates in quality improvement activities, May serve on Quality Improvement Committee
Special Projects: Participates in approved projects/research
Minimum Requirements
College Degree (4 yrs)- or higher.
Three years or greater and less than five years of licensure.

North Carolina Board of Physical Therapy
