Position Summary
The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is a highly trained individual who under the supervision of the Licensed Physical Therapist, uses purposeful activity or interventions to promote health and achieve functional outcomes, by developing, improving, or restoring the highest level of independence of any individual who is limited by a physical injury or illness, a dysfunctional condition, a cognitive impairment, a psychosocial dysfunction, a mental illness, a developmental or learning disability or an adverse environmental condition. As a PTA, you will provide physical therapy treatments, participates in discharge planning and provides patient and family education for patients whom the therapist assistant is qualified to treat, according to age and condition by virtue of training and orientation. You will also participate in non patient care activities directed at hospital quality improvement, professional growth and service aimed at meeting the hospitals mission and vision. The PTA is directly accountable to the manager for the quality of patient care delivered.
