About ECU Health North Hospital

ECU Health North Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited, 204-bed acute bed facility serving Halifax, Northampton and Warren counties in the north-central region of North Carolina. Its service area also reaches into southern Virginia. With more than 600 team members, the hospital offers a broad range of medical and surgical services. It features a 24-hour emergency department and offers advanced diagnostics as well as specialty and primary care.

Position Summary

The Supply Chain Specialist performs various tasks using the PeopleSoft platform. Uses the PeopleSoft Mobile Inventory handheld device to perform various tasks such as but not limited to issuing supplies to the end users, receiving inbound shipments, delivery of supplies and performing cycle counts. Perform various Supply Chain Clerk and Pyxis Coordinator activities. Performs job functions of the department manager as needed. Other duties include computer data entry, operation of various machines (e.g. postal machine, copy machines, Pyxis Stations etc.) and other duties as assigned. Employee shall be required to maintain the confidentiality, security, and integrity of all information concerning patient care.

Responsible for coordinating requests of supplies/equipment for departments, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years experience required in Material Services, Purchasing or related 
  • Proficient computer skills required in Microsoft Office Suite 

Preferred Requirements

  • 1 year to 3 years related work experience
  • Logistical experience 

Other Information

  • 40 hours a week
  • Primarily Monday - Friday (8 am - 5 pm)
  • May occasionally work other shifts / weekends
