Position Summary

The Volunteer Coordinator works collaboratively with the Volunteer Manager to recruit and maintain a strong volunteer workforce to aid in augmenting the services of medical center team members.

Conducts recruiting, screening, interviewing and training for new volunteers: reviews new volunteer requests and assign appropriate volunteers to meet the needs. Develops a plan to recruit new volunteers to the service and sets monthly goals for that development.

Promotes community interest in Cancer Center/Hospital-wide Volunteer program and the hospital through speaking engagements, special receptions, hospital tours and other activities as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Hospitality Management, Family and Child Development or related degree required

1 to 3 years previous experience working with volunteers, teams and work with a service industry.

Experience level change to Minimum of 5 years experience in volunteer management or related field.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organization skills

Ability to work effectively with diverse cultures and segments of the community in which the medical center serves

Experience with volunteer databases and reporting

Must have Valid N.C. driver's license with minimum NC automobile insurance requirement

Other Information

Full time with benefits

Day shift - Monday - Friday (8 am - 5 pm).

Required to work rotating weekends
