About ECU Health Beaufort Hospital, a campus of ECU Health Medical Center

ECU Health Beaufort Hospital is located in Washington and serves as a campus ECU Health Medical Center, our Level I Trauma Center in Greenville. The 142-bed full-service hospital offers a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services including medical, surgical, intensive care, emergency, pediatrics and women’s services. In addition there is a lab, diagnostic imaging services, physical and respiratory therapy. The facility also features the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center, offering leading-edge chemotherapy and radiation therapy, among other cancer services.

Position Summary

The Staff Physical Therapist is a licensed physical therapist who is responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing treatment programs for his/her assigned physical therapy patients. He/She assists with administrative work in the absence of the Director or as assigned by the Director. He/She works and maintains job competence to provide care ranging from neonates to the elderly population by maintaining continuing education and experience in all related fields.

Minimum Requirements

Physical Therapist I: 

• Graduation with Bachelors, Masters or Doctoral Degree from an APTA Accredited school of Physical Therapy.
• Less than three years of licensure.
• Current valid license or eligible for licensure for Physical Therapy by The North Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners

Physical Therapist II: 

• College Degree (4 yrs)- or higher.
• Three years or greater and less than five years of licensure.
• Registration or Certification: North Carolina Board of Physical Therapy

Physical Therapist III: 

• College Degree (4 yrs) Major: Physical Therapy
• Five years and less than 10 years of licensure.
• Registration or Certification North Carolina Board of Physical Therapy

Physical Therapist IV:

• College Degree (4 yrs) Major: Physical Therapy
• Ten or more years of licensure.
• Registration or Certification North Carolina Board of Physical Therapy

• Primary Shift: Day
  • Monday - Friday with intertmittent acute weekend and holiday coverage 
• On Call: No 
• Weekends: Rotating 
• Outpatient
• Physical Therapy Department

• IMPORTANT: This position is listed as a Physical Therapist I, but based on the minimum requirements that are met, the applicant of choice will be hired as a Physical Therapist I, II, III or IV.
