About ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital
ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital is a 114-bed community hospital located in Ahoskie. Serving four nearby counties, the 15-bed emergency department sees approximately 18,000 patients per year. ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital provides a wide range of health services, including medical, surgical and radiation oncology. In addition, the Wound Healing and Pain Management clinics serve as referral centers for neighboring ECU Health hospitals and providers.
Ahoskie, NC is ideally located an hour from the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area and two hours from Raleigh, Richmond, Williamsburg, and the beautiful Outer Banks of NC. Ahoskie offers a moderate cost of living, a strong sense of community, and a temperate climate and location to support a variety of year round outdoor activities, such as boating, kayaking, hunting, fishing, hiking, and golf.
Position Summary
The Exercise Instructor provides safe and effective individual or group instruction while creating and maintaining an atmosphere conducive to motivation, learning and fun.
As a Exercise Instructor, you will:
- Provide safe and effective individual or group instruction through verbal and demonstration of equipment and techniques
- Observe participants and informing them of corrective measures while creating and maintaining an atmosphere conducive to motivation, learning and fun
- Select, choreograph and lead instructional methods appropriate for audience
- Maintain certifications and stay abreast of industry advances and best practices
- Model mission, vision and values of ECU Health
- Follow policies and procedures while actively contribute to organizational goals, promotion of services, team engagement and experience, customer experience and retention, process and quality improvements
Minimum Requirements
- High School, Equivalent (GED), or higher
- Certified though accredited fitness and wellness organization (Group Fitness Instructor Organization)
- Zero to two years related experience
CPR certification by one of the following organizations:
- American Heart Association
- American Red Cross
- National Safety Council
- American Safety & Health Institute
Other Information
- This is a PRN, As Needed position
- Rotational Shift (Morning and/or Evening Classes)
- Required to work 1 to 4 classes a week
- Classes Includes: Land and/or Aquatics
