ECU Health Medical Center, one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is the 974-bed flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Responsibilities

Ability to learn new skills quickly; Keen attention to detail; and Adept at multi-tasking such as concurrently managing multiple incidents, project tasks, or keep lights on maintenance activities.

Investigates, defines and resolves complex incidents. Identifies root cause. Updates or creates needed test plans.

Performs the evaluation, testing, and implementation of defect patches, system upgrades and releases according to the Information Services support model and change control procedures.

Coordinates all testing activities and assists users in the testing of all new systems and modifications completely before implementation into the production environment.

Work includes a broad range of complex technical or professional activities, in a variety of contexts. Possesses clear understanding of technology interdependency from a business or clinical operations and IT system perspective on simple to moderate level.

Evaluates how own work may impact other teams.

Contribute to improving the quality of our data by recording, tracking and resolving known data quality issues.

Understands and enforces security practices and controls for technology. Ability to assesses and evaluates risk regarding new and existing technology moves through change management.

Help to remediate known security vulnerabilities within area of responsibility.
Assist other team members.

Follows methodology and procedures set by IS Project Management Office (PMO) and completes assigned tasks related to projects.

Contributes to ideas and solutions.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Healthcare related field or relevant work experience required
2+ years of progressive experience in IT dealing with vendor application implementations and support or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Experience in testing software application
Ability to effectively support applications
Works independently with quantifiable and qualitative results
Ability to conduct analysis, document findings, draft plans, execute, monitor and follow up
Independently motivated to seek knowledge through self-education, mentoring, etc. in areas pertaining to their current position
Recognized as a source of knowledge on primary applications both functional and technical operations
Obtains and maintains current certification from the vendor and continued education/learning to understand the functionality of applications(s) supported as applicable to the job role.

For individuals clinically trained
Demonstrates knowledge of clinical scope of practice and workflows for roles within clinical setting.
Applies clinical knowledge to develop solutions
Ability to communicate clinical concepts to technical team and system design concepts to end users.

Application Analyst I & II are required to complete and maintain one primary Epic Certification as determined by manager. See alternative requirements for Enterprise Imaging Analysts supporting non-Epic tools.

Application Analyst III & IV are required to complete and maintain one primary Epic Certification directly related to the application and at least one secondary Certification, Proficiency, or a minimum of two Epic Badges. See alternative requirements for Enterprise Imaging Analysts supporting non-Epic tools.

Enterprise Imaging Application Analysts I-IV that support non-Epic tools, are required to complete and maintain Fuji Synapse System Administration Certification. Preferred Radiology/Cardiology clinical, operational, or imaging system admin experience for Enterprise Imaging Application Analyst I and required for levels II-IV.

Lab Team: MT or MLT experience preferred for Application Analyst I & II and required for level III & IV.

Preferred Requirements

Current Epic certification in EpicCare Ambulatory

Additional Epic certification in at least one of the following: Kaleidoscope, Phoenix, Nurse Triage, Order Transmittal, SmartForms or HOD

This position supports the outpatient Medical Specialties service lines
