About ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital

ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital is a 114-bed community hospital located in Ahoskie. Serving four nearby counties, the 15-bed emergency department sees approximately 18,000 patients per year. ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital provides a wide range of health services, including medical, surgical and radiation oncology. In addition, the Wound Healing and Pain Management clinics serve as referral centers for neighboring ECU Health hospitals and providers.

Ahoskie, NC is ideally located an hour from the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area and two hours from Raleigh, Richmond, Williamsburg, and the beautiful Outer Banks of NC. Ahoskie offers a moderate cost of living, a strong sense of community, and a temperate climate and location to support a variety of year round outdoor activities, such as boating, kayaking, hunting, fishing, hiking, and golf.

Position Summary

The Monitor Technician provides safe, expedient, cost-effective constant visual observation of the telemetry monitor on the unit. As a Monitor Technician, you will be required to participate in cardiac rhythm identification and notification to the assigned Nurse for appropriate action.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent GED
  • American Heart Association (AHA) HeartSaver Certification
  • Completion of a rhythm identification training program within 30 days

Other Information

  • 36 hours a week
  • 3 (12 hour) shifts: 7 pm - 7 am
  • Required to work rotational weekends
