ECU Health Medical Center, one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is the 974-bed flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Position Summary

 Responsible to provide care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice and other standards established by profession/professional groups, regulating bodies/agents. Nursing care will be delivered in accordance with ECU Health and entity specific nursing policies, procedures and professional standards of care/practice.
 

Radiology Nursing supports the following departments:

  • Diagnostic
  • Vascular Interventional Radiology
  • Nuclear Medicine
  • Ultrasound
  • MRI
  • CT

The population consists of following subspecialties for adults and pediatrics: Scheduled outpatients and inpatients emergent and non-emergency 

Responsibilities

  • Assures healing without harm through use of safety habits and error prevention tools, periodic rounding, and engagement in daily safety huddle.
  • Obtains and interprets initial and ongoing systematic patient/family assessment data, incorporating information from other appropriate sources.
  • Uses patient/family assessment data to formulate relevant nursing plan of care.
  • Collaborates with patient/family/significant others(s) and interdisciplinary team members to mutually formulate realistic and measurable outcomes based on clinical presentation and plan of care.


 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree or Associates Degree in Nursing is required
  • Current NC RN license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state Health Care Provider is required.
  • Basic Life Support is required.

Other Information

40 hour and 36 hour per week shifts available.
