About ECU Health Beaufort Hospital, a campus of ECU Health Medical Center

ECU Health Beaufort Hospital is located in Washington and serves as a campus ECU Health Medical Center, our Level I Trauma Center in Greenville. The 142-bed full-service hospital offers a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services including medical, surgical, intensive care, emergency, pediatrics and women’s services. In addition there is a lab, diagnostic imaging services, physical and respiratory therapy. The facility also features the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center, offering leading-edge chemotherapy and radiation therapy, among other cancer services.

Position Summary

Provides patient care through:

  • Evaluation/re-evaluation
  • Treatment
  • Communication
  • Appropriate documentation

Participates in departmental/team/organizational quality improvement activities

Delegates appropriate tasks to assistants, technicians, and supervises

Responsible for education of self, peers, patients, students, community members and assists with new employee orientation

Assists with or performs special projects and/or research

Minimum Requirements

Career Ladder: 

Physical Therapist I: 

  • Graduation with Bachelors, Masters or Doctoral Degree from an APTA Accredited school of Physical Therapy.
  • Less than three years of licensure.
  • Current valid license or eligible for licensure for Physical Therapy by The North Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners

Physical Therapist II: 

  • College Degree (4 yrs)- or higher.
  • Three years or greater and less than five years of licensure.
  • Registration or Certification: North Carolina Board of Physical Therapy

Physical Therapist III: 

  • College Degree (4 yrs) Major: Physical Therapy
  • Five years and less than 10 years of licensure.
  • Registration or Certification North Carolina Board of Physical Therapy

Physical Therapist IV:

  • College Degree (4 yrs) Major: Physical Therapy
  • Ten or more years of licensure.
  • Registration or Certification North Carolina Board of Physical Therapy

Other Information

  • Primary Shift: Day; Monday - Friday, 8 hours OR Monday - Thursday, 10 hours 
  • On Call: No
  • Weekend: Rotating
  • ***Sign-On Bonus available***
