About ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital
ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital is a 114-bed community hospital located in Ahoskie. Serving four nearby counties, the 15-bed emergency department sees approximately 18,000 patients per year. ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital provides a wide range of health services, including medical, surgical and radiation oncology. In addition, the Wound Healing and Pain Management clinics serve as referral centers for neighboring ECU Health hospitals and providers.
Ahoskie, NC is ideally located an hour from the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area and two hours from Raleigh, Richmond, Williamsburg, and the beautiful Outer Banks of NC. Ahoskie offers a moderate cost of living, a strong sense of community, and a temperate climate and location to support a variety of year round outdoor activities, such as boating, kayaking, hunting, fishing, hiking, and golf.
Position Summary
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates patients with a wide variety of communication disorders. As a SLP, you will develop & implement treatment plan for patients with various communication disorders, assess treatment progress and revises treatment program, and apply specialty skills to evaluate and treat patients with more complex disorders. Required to participate in Speech-Language Pathology Q.A. activities, participate in special projects for the department and Regional Rehabilitation Center, provide education regarding Speech-Language Pathology practice to patients, families, staff and the public, and assist less experienced staff and/or students.
Minimum Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology OR Master's degree in Communication Science and Disorders or higher
- Five years and less than ten years of licensure
- Current Speech Language Pathology License issued by NCBOESLPA
- American Speech and Hearing Association Certification
Other Information
- Monday - Friday (8 am - 5 pm) with On-Call every 3rd Saturday (8 am - 12 pm)
- Will work mostly with pediatrics, but will be required to provide care to adults
