ECU Health Registered Nurse Residency Program is excited to be hosting a Networking Event during New Graduate Nurse Weekend on Sept 29, 2023 for nursing students and recent graduates. You will be able to connect with nurse leaders and learn more about the Residency Program at ECU Health. Following the event, ECU Health Roanoke Chowan Hospital will be holding interview days on Monday Oct. 2, 2023 and Thursday, Oct. 5, 2023.

Interested candidates should submit an application. Once received, a member of the ECU Health team will reach out to schedule your interview with  ECU Health Roanoke Chowan Hospital.

Opportunity Overview 

The New Graduate Registered Nurse Residency Program provides an extensive orientation to the roles and responsibilities associated with professional practice. This process takes place over a minimum of three to six months depending upon the specific clinical setting. 

As a Nurse Resident, you will: 

  • Be a part of a cohort of other new graduate nurses
  • Work side by side with a dedicated clinical coach throughout your orientation
  • Participate in simulation laboratory experiences
  • Receive mentorship from a nurse educator
  • Attend cornerstone sessions designed to stimulate critical thinking skills
  • Participate in classroom activities that address key clinical topics
  • Participate in Nursing Councils and other professional groups within the organization
  • And, much more! 

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma in Nursing, Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is required
  • North Carolina RN license or Multi-State Compact RN license must be active prior to start date
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support is required
  • 0 - 6 months experience is required
