About James and Connie Maynard Children's Hospital
The James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital, located on the campus of ECU Health Medical Center, is designed to care for children of all ages, from newborns to teenagers. The 198-bed Level II pediatric trauma center provides highly specialized services including neonatal and pediatric intensive care units, kids immunosuppressed specialty unit, specialty care nursery, 24/7 children’s emergency department, pediatric radiology, pediatric surgery, and more. The Children’s Hospital is a designated Children’s Miracle Network hospital, placing it among the nation’s top children’s facilities.
Position Summary
The Service Line Facilitator (SLF) coordinates and facilitates patient care for clinical units within their service line. The SLF is responsible for overseeing and enforcing criteria for safe quality patient care. The SLF coordinates patient care and staffing resources within their service line. Through procurement of resources, teaching, guidance of nursing and organizational activities during the designated shift, the SLF facilitates delivery of patient care, patient placement and throughput. The SLF holds accountability/responsibility as a consultant for admission and determines divisional patient placement. The SLF also participates in high acuity/high census decompression of their Service Line through initial assessments, patient care, covering triage (if applicable), covering charge nurses to go into staffing, or working with housekeeping to clean patient rooms/delivery rooms to maximize throughput and/or patient transport. The SLF is responsible to ensure EMTALA regulations are maintained through the shift as appropriate for their service line and keeps constant communication with the patient care coordinators.
Minimum Requirements
Associate or Bachelor degree in Nursing- or higher.
RN license active in North Carolina
3 to 5 years experience in tertiary care setting in appropriate population for service line, e.g.- medicine, surgery, obstetrics
