ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital is a 114-bed community hospital located in Ahoskie. Serving four nearby counties, the 15-bed emergency department sees approximately 18,000 patients per year. ECU Health Roanoke-Chowan Hospital provides a wide range of health services, including medical, surgical and radiation oncology. In addition, the Wound Healing and Pain Management clinics serve as referral centers for neighboring ECU Health hospitals and providers.

Ahoskie, NC is ideally located an hour from the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area and two hours from Raleigh, Richmond, Williamsburg, and the beautiful Outer Banks of NC. Ahoskie offers a moderate cost of living, a strong sense of community, and a temperate climate and location to support a variety of year round outdoor activities, such as boating, kayaking, hunting, fishing, hiking, and golf.

Position Summary

The Surgical Technologist (ST) maintains the integrity, safety and efficiency of the sterile field throughout surgical procedures. As an Surgical Technologist, you will prepare and arrange instruments and supplies as well as assisting the surgeon and assistants throughout the operation by providing sterile instruments and supplies. Attends educational programs and staff orientation which promote personal and professional development. Participates in Service Excellence Program.

Minimum Requirements

• Graduation from an approved Surgical Technology Program, Certification from a Military Program, or Graduated from an accredited Nursing Program RN/LPN

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (required for OR)

• Less than 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience

• Less than 2 years of experience no CST certification needed

Other Information

• 36 hours a week

• Monday - Friday

• Required to work rotating On-Call for nights and weekends
