About ECU Health Beaufort Hospital, a campus of ECU Health Medical Center

ECU Health Beaufort Hospital is located in Washington and serves as a campus ECU Health Medical Center, our Level I Trauma Center in Greenville. The 142-bed full-service hospital offers a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services including medical, surgical, intensive care, emergency, pediatrics and women’s services. In addition there is a lab, diagnostic imaging services, physical and respiratory therapy. The facility also features the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center, offering leading-edge chemotherapy and radiation therapy, among other cancer services.

Position Summary

The Nursing Assistant performs specific responsibilities under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse. Functions within the framework of the NAI listing granted by the NC Department of Health and Human Services. Practices within the philosophy and goals of patient care services.

Minimum Requirements

Nursing Assistant I:

  • NAI listing with NC Department of Health and Human Services is required.
  • Experience in a comparable facility can only be substituted for NA I course by successful completion of challenge exam acceptable to the NC Department of Health and Human Services is required.
  • Current American Heart Association HeartSaver certification/BLS certification is required.

Nursing Assistant II:

  • Active NAI listing with NC Department of Health & Human Services is required.
  • Active NAII listing with North Carolina Board of Nursing is required.
  • Current American Heart Association HeartSaver certification/BLS certification is required.

Preferred Requirements

  • 1+ years prior experience in acute hospital
  • 1+ years prior experience in skilled care/nursing home
  • 1+ years prior experience in home health
  • High School or GED is preferred or higher
