Position Summary
The Sr. Inclusive Diversity & Belonging Consultant acts as a subject matter expert, internal consultant, and project manager to lead, influence and support complex inclusion projects pertaining to people, culture and experience as they follow ECU Health's Mission and Values. Supports the Chief Diversity, Inclusion and Talent Management Officer and other department leaders by providing strategic direction for System wide diversity, inclusion and talent initiatives. This role will help cultivate and maintain a System D&I strategy. Supports D&I through business consulting services, including implementing and leading projects, business process design, D&I business case analysis, and advice on strategic D&I issues with an emphasis on data analysis and insight generation. Initiates and cultivates relationships with System leaders, regional partners, University partners, Office of Experience, Human Resources, Regional Community Partners and other areas as needed, assisting them in identifying barriers and opportunities in the team member experience and talent cycle, specifically in culture, team dynamics, recruitment, development, promotion, and retention. Supports business units and other stakeholders in creating and sustaining inclusive cultures and behaviors to drive business results and performance. Responsible for providing high-level support in the administration of D&I programs.
A key area of responsibility will be the alignment of ECU Health Diversity and Inclusion structure, offerings and strategies with Brody School of Medicine and East Carolina University Office of Diversity and Equity structure; focusing on talent pipeline, inclusive culture development, diversity standards and more.
Responsible for the collaborative design, delivery, evaluation, and evolution of ECU Health's system-wide Talent Development Strategy, aligning aspects of team, organization, leadership and physician development and programming, which exists to ensure team members, leaders and physicians/providers embody leadership capacities and competencies necessary for the success of ECU Health. This is necessary to establish an inclusive workforce culture that positions all members of the ECU Health System where talent thrives by leading self, team and system.

Develop strong alignment with Brody School of Medicine Diversity and Equity programming to ensure alignment with ECU Health programming, strategies and tactics to develop a culture of belonging and respect towards the overall experience.
Invest in supporting stronger Student/ECU Health team member interactions as it pertains to student/resident engagement.
Advancing DEI value statement for ECU Health as we interact and seek to recruit ECU/Brody students.

Following a data-focused approach, provide consultation to enhance recruitment, retention, success of underrepresented groups into our physician and credentialed provider workforce.

Select and onboard DEI resources for the System.
Establish/maintain System resource groups; improving opportunities for interaction amongst our team members and leadership. Also advancing the System ability to create a feedback loop across various groups within the organization.

Design, develop and deliver Cultural Competency Curriculum.
Serves as a thought partner to research, design, implement, facilitate, evaluate, and transform learning experiences, including specialized development courses and programs, internal consulting and team facilitation initiatives, and professional coaching practices, to ensure a robust pipeline of leadership talent exists across ECU Health.
Ensures the programs and services of Organization and Leadership Development are congruent with ECU Health's leadership development philosophy, competency framework, retention and succession planning needs, and team member experience goals.
Directs development of and oversees coordination and delivery of team experiences in collaboration with individual team leadership, especially as team culture needs relate to team member and team experience, team health, success, retention, and an actualization of ICEAST values.
Directs development of and oversees coordination and delivery of learning and development initiatives in support of ECU Health's Leadership Development Journey, including open-enrollment leadership courses, cohort-based programs for all levels of leaders, and succession planning programs and initiatives..
In efforts to enhance internal hiring capability across the system, partner with Organizational Development and Workforce Experience-Talent Mobility to develop services (education, coaching, consult) as a consultant for the operations of internal mentoring networks and coaching initiatives for the advancement of leadership skills and organizational knowledge of all levels of leaders, specifically senior level for direct support.
Minimum Requirements
Master's degree is required- or higher.
8 -10 years experience is required.
