Position Summary

The VMC Parking Attendant performs the complete range of parking services provided to the patients, visitors, and staff of the ECU Health Medical Center.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates acceptable level of Service Excellence behaviors.
Demonstrates acceptable level of work habits including safety precautions.
Meets professional standards, including appearance and image.
Utilizing compassion, teamwork, and cultural diversity to provide service.
Exercises full compliance of all hospital policies and procedure, including service standards, infection control, safety, HIPPA, and EMTALA.
Understands that schedules are changed as needed to meet patient and operational needs, and cross training for and usage in other parking positions is expected.
Provides information and assistance to patients, visitors, and staff.
Monitors designated parking area and access control equipment.
Greets and assists patients and guests in and out of their vehicles, opening all vehicle doors for them. Utilizing ergonomic lifting as needed.
Assists handicapped/infirmed persons via wheelchair to enter facility.
Parks and retrieves guest vehicles as needed, utilizing proper valet techniques, safety, and recording of transaction in log.
Operates shuttle vehicle.
All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required

Valid N.C. Driver's License required.
Good driving record (DMV).
Employee must be able to drive manual and automatic transmission vehicles
