About ECU Health North Hospital

ECU Health North Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited, 204-bed acute bed facility serving Halifax, Northampton and Warren counties in the north-central region of North Carolina. Its service area also reaches into southern Virginia. With more than 600 team members, the hospital offers a broad range of medical and surgical services. It features a 24-hour emergency department and offers advanced diagnostics as well as specialty and primary care.

Position Summary

The Manager of Facilities Services is responsible for assessing and planning for departmental needs based on short and long-term goals and strategic plans for assigned hospitals or practices. Provides accurate and timely communication, recognition and coaching to staff; implements budget and performance improvement plans; collaborates with all hospital departments to ensure their satisfaction with matters involving Facilities Services; supervises small maintenance and refurbishment projects; and, responsible for coordination of related services involving ECU Health and ECU Health Medical Center. Significant responsibilities also include performing and planning routine maintenance and repair functions on equipment, machinery and structures within area of expertise or certification.

Minimum Requirements

A Bachelor's or Associate's Degree required from an accredited college or university, plus five (5) years of experience in facilities maintenance and plant operations with experience in a particular trade such as mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, stationary operating engineer, etc. ,
OR
High school diploma or equivalent plus Seven (7) years experience in facilities maintenance and plant operations with experience in a particular trade such as mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, stationary operating engineer, etc. of which four (4) years must be in a supervisory capacity.

A valid North Carolina driver's license required.

Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) designation preferred.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and knowledge of hospital management and Utility Systems Management Plan

2 years Facility Engineering experience in an acute care facility, including such things as: responsibility for compliance with The Joint Commission Environment of Care Standards, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, etc. preferred.

Shifts: 8hrs.
