Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager of Windows / Virtualization Server Engineering, this position helps identify opportunities and deploy technical solutions that enable improvements to the delivery of patient care and business operations. Works with a cross functional IS team in the delivery of Windows servers and Virtualization, hardware and software solutions and services. The position will focus on Citrix infrastructure components and Windows server support and maintenance.  Participation in a team on-call rotation will also be asked as well as additional involvement in the support, maintenance, and deployment of VMware products, Active Directory, and strategic infrastructure initiatives. 

Responsibilities

  • Ability to learn new skills quickly; Keen attention to detail; and Adept at multi-tasking such as concurrently managing multiple incidents, project tasks, or keep lights on maintenance activities.
  • Investigates, defines, and resolves complex incidents. Identifies root cause.  Updates or creates needed test plans.
  • Performs the evaluation, testing, and implementation of defect patches, system upgrades and releases according to the Information Services support model and change control procedures.
  • Coordinates all testing activities and assists users in the testing of all new systems and modifications completely before implementation into the production environment.
  • Work includes a broad range of complex technical or professional activities, in a variety of contexts. Possesses clear understanding of technology interdependency from a business or clinical operations and IT system perspective on simple to moderate level.
  • Evaluates how own work may impact other teams.
  • Contribute to improving the quality of our data by recording, tracking, and resolving known data quality issues.
  • Understands and enforces security practices and controls for technology. Ability to assesses and evaluates risk regarding new and existing technology moves through change management.
  • Help to remediate known security vulnerabilities within area of responsibility.

  • Follows methodology and procedures set by IS Project Management Office (PMO) and completes assigned tasks related to projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 2 year degree in business, healthcare administration, computer technology, information management or related field strongly desired.
  • 1-3 professional level certifications in related technologies desired (VCP, CCP, MCSE)
  • 3-5 plus years of relevant technical experience working in large scale virtualized Citrix CVAD and Windows environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Citrix Infrastructure, Windows Server, and vCenter environments.
  • 3-5 plus years of collaborative experience with other technical teams that have shown positive results.
  • A technically strong individual with 3-5 years of knowledge of healthcare IS solutions strongly desired.
  • Experience with following standards and maintaining a high level of user trust and confidence in the group's knowledge of and concern for users' business needs.
  • Able to translate information technology jargon into terms understandable by all audiences.
  • Understands the practical application of technology and can plan for systems today that will carry the organization into the future.
  • Thoroughly understands customer operations, anticipates needs, and pursues effective and efficient solutions.  Experience managing to service level agreements in either an insourced or outsourced professional services operation.

Preferred Requirements

A combination of experience and certifications from the following:

  • Citrix Certified Professional or Expert (CCP-V or CCE-V)
  • Citrix Certified Associate – Networking (CCA-N)
  • VMware Certified Associate or Professional Certification (VCTA-DCV or VCP-DCV)
  • Citrix Provisioning Services Experience (PVS)
