Position Summary
The primary responsibility of the Pathologists' Assistant will be participation on the surgical pathology service (dictation, dissection, submission of sections for microscopic examination, assistance with performance of frozen section, specimen photography, support of tissue procurement for clinical research trials).
Responsibilities
1. Responsible for dictation, dissection, and submission of sections for microscopic examination.
2. Provides assistance with performance of frozen section, specimen photography, and support of tissue procurement for clinical research trials.
3. Participate in and be proficient in surgical pathology prosection and may on occasion need to log in specimens or place specimens on tissue processors.
4. Maintain teaching collections including digital image electronic files and information, slide scanning, and assisting with autopsy cases and call as needed.
5. Other duties may be assigned, consistent with the position and incumbent's training.
